Looks like BET founder Bob Johnson is trying to get back in the cable television game. Johnson is looking to merge with Ion Media Networks to form Urban Television, LLC, where he would own 51 percent of the company, reports MultiChannel News. A petition has already been sent to the Federal Communications Commission to review and approve the venture. The new network would likely offer lifestyle, entertainment and health programming.
Johnson left the cable TV biz when he sold BET in 2000 to Viacom for $3 billion.
