It appears Europeans are very engaged in the U.S. presidential election. Reuters reports western Europeans overwhelming favor Senator Barack Obama, while just one percent of the French want rival Republican nominee Senator John McCain to win the presidential election, according to a recent opinion poll.
Also included in the report in Germany, five percent of people support McCain while 72 percent back Obama. Most people in Germany, France and Italy cited McCain’s policies as the reason for their disapproval. However, Spanish respondents most strongly opposed “the values he represents,” while Brits said it was based upon “his choice for vice-president.”
