African-Americans living in Kouma Village, a military housing base in Fort Hood, Texas, are facing horrendous hate crimes and now many are voicing their fears. A Black woman was sprayed with lighter fluid when she opened her door, her dog was killed and a doll with a noose around its neck was found hanging from her tree, according to news8austin.com. Also found was a note was found that read, “Go back to Africa.” In another instance of racial cruelty, the same Black woman’s lawn was set on fire numerous times. Now, Fort Hood officials are investigating the complaints as a priority. Still, military leaders say people who live in Fort Hood experience two-thirds less crime than those living in surrounding areas.
