BET has a number of organizations busting out the bubbly. The network recently announced that it will cancel the widely criticized “Rap City.” The Parents Television Council (PTC), the Enough is Enough Campaign for Corporate Responsibility, the National Congress of Black Women and Industry are all relieved by this latest move. EURweb.com reports that the decision was made after former BET President of Entertainment Reginald Hudlin resigned. A study recently performed by PTC and Enough is Enough Campaign showed that children who watched BET’s “Rap City” and similar music video shows were bombarded with sexual, violent, profane or obscene content once every 38 seconds.
