A Babyface ballad filled the Atlanta venue as comedian and ESSENCE relationship columnist Finesse Mitchell, 36, awaited his bride, Jessica Santos, 26.
The newlyweds, who met during a beach outing with mutual friends three years ago, exchanged vows before 230 family members and friends on September 13. Among the guests were Chris Webber, Mateen Cleaves, Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker, and comedians Kyle Grooms and Keedar Whittle.
Surrounded by candles and ivy, a dapper Mitchell wore a custom-made tux by Atlanta designer Douglas Wayne and Stacy Adams shoes. The bridal party of ten bridesmaids and nine groomsmen were elegant in black, white and platinum ensembles.
As the bride and groom celebrated the rest of the evening with their loved ones, the funny guy reflected on what he loves most about his bride. “She is my biggest supporter and I am hers,” said the former “Saturday Night Live” cast member, who proposed to his bride onstage during a Nas concert in Florida on her birthday. “She is very motivating and inspiring, and making her happy is what makes me the happiest.”
